A Taste of Italy at Martini Italian Bistro

Matthew Vanetti, Staff Reporter

Big portions of fettuccine Alfredo. Spaghetti and meatballs. Lasagna. Sound good? These are just a few dishes that Martini Italian Bistro serves.

Martini is a popular Italian restaurant in Louisville — located at 4021 Summit Plaza Drive.

Seating is at tables (no booths) that have white cloths with a white sheet on top that allows children a chance to color on it.

Martini provides a unique atmosphere that includes Italian writing on the walls in a mixture of white and brownish color. The servers wear black and white, and televisions surround the bar.

The menu, a single page, mostly consists of Italian foods such as fettuccine Alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs, and other pasta dishes. They also serve chicken and steak dishes.

On the other side of the menu are drinks — alcoholic beverages (mostly wines) and Coke products.

The neatly arranged food is served in big portions, and the service is usually excellent.

Last Sept. 25 my birthday dinner was held at Martini. We had 20 people and two different tables. The restaurant, as usual, was pretty busy, filled with people dressed in business casual.

Despite the slow service this night, there is much to like about Martini Italian Bistro. I would recommend you try this restaurant.
