Braden Lauer ’14 also a Governor’s Scholar Junior Braden Lauer received notification he has been selected as a Governor’s Scholar and will attend the program this summer. Lauer will have the distinction of being one of very few students to attend both the Governor’s Scholars Program and the Governor’s School for the Arts. He joins nine other Trinity students who will be participating in Governor’s Scholars summer programs. Five math team members receive honors Trinity math team members received awards from the Greater Louisville Math League: sophomore Will Paris (sixth place), junior Jack Feger (fourth), freshman Jacob Kalbfleisch (fourth) and sophomore Chris Collins (second). Trinity Art Show to be held May 16 The Trinity Art Department’s annual show will be held Thursday, May 16, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Admission is free, so come and view some of the best art in town. Trinity to host blood drives The American Red Cross experiences blood shortages during the summer, and Trinity has decided to help. Trinity will be hosting two blood drives — one in May and one in July. Under the direction of Mrs. Mary Mason, the first of the two drives will be held on Wednesday, May 22, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. in Trinity’s Steinhauser Gym. The July blood drive will be held on July 23. Mason encourages anyone in the Trinity family – alumni, parents of current students, parents of alumni – as well as the general public — to participate in the blood drive. Donors 16 years old and younger must have a parent sign a permission form. Besides helping those that need the blood, donors will also help a couple of Trinity students who will earn college scholarship money for organizing the drives. Christian Leadership Institute accepting applications Do you want to learn and strengthen your leadership skills? The Christian Leadership Institute is now accepting applications for participation in its summer program. The CLI is a five-day program sponsored by the Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville that teaches leadership and planning skills and gives students opportunities to use them. It’s a great way to meet other students from all over Kentucky while learning to become a better leader. Freshmen, sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply. If interested in attending the CLI, see Mrs. Mary Emrich in T212 for more information and application materials. Noe recognized for helping CSAA Trinity data administrator Mr. Jeff Noe was recently recognized for helping the Catholic School Athletic Association rebuild their website. Mr. Rick Arnold, a THS alum and the CSAA executive director, praised Noe’s contributions to the association. Arnold’s father was Trinity’s first development director.
