Tranbarger will receive academic and athletic scholarships to Amherst, an NCAA Division III school in lacrosse. POWERLIFTING Connor Kronk broke the incline press record in the 235-lb. weight class. The old record of 290 lbs. stood for 10 years and was easily broken with a press of 300 lbs. TRACK & FIELD The track Rocks finished in fourth place at the Harry Greschel Invitational on Mar. 23 at Christian Academy. TENNIS Trinity defeated Christian Academy 4-1 Apr. 9. BASEBALL Trinity defeated Franklin Co. 21-1 Apr. 9. BASKETBALL · Rice commits to Campbellsville Trinity basketball standout Miles Rice announced a verbal commitment to Campbellsville University. Rice is a six-foot guard who averaged 8.5 points last season. He joins Trinity forward DeMarcus Page, who signed with Campbellsville in the fall. Rice and Page made many contributions to the Rocks’ basketball team over their four years. · Hicks to play in Ohio-Kentucky All-Star Game Trinity senior Darryl Hicks was one of several players from the Louisville selected for Kentucky’s All-Star team for the 22nd annual Ohio-Kentucky All-Star basketball game. Hicks will play basketball for Boston College next year. INTRAMURAL VOLLEYBALL In intramural volleyball tournament action on Monday, Mason’s team took on a scrappy Huetz team. After losing the first game 13-25, Huetz’s team rallied and appeared to be controlling the second game. But Mason’s team pulled together and won the second game 27-25. So, Mason’s team advances against Anderson’s team. In game two, Smith’s team and Nalley’s team were neck and neck through the both games, and Smith’s team pulled ahead and took both games. Old School prevailed in game 3 over Zarick’s team thanks to great team play and a very boisterous Mr. Keith Rapp. These two victors will square off, so that’s Smith’s team and Old School. In the freshman/sophomore division, Wilson’s team defeated Dyar’s team and advances to the finals against Shellenberg’s team. ULTIMATE FRISBEE In the Senior Division: O’Daniel defeated Martin, Senn 4, Wileman 3; Whitehead 7, Berger 5; Goranflo 7, Abend 5. In the Junior Division of Ultimate Frisbee: Ullum defeated Smith, Mattingly 4, Ullum 1; Mattingly 7, Fahy 4; Fahy 5, Edlin 1 and Edlin defeated Nalley; Graham 7, Miozza 0.
