Rocks Begin School Year Hungry and Humble
August 27, 2015
The annual opening Mass brought together the school community to celebrate the beginning of the school year and announce the year’s theme. The theme “Stay Hungry. Stay Humble” embodies the pursuit of excellence combined with an ever-present sense of humility.
Chaplain Fr. Dave Zettel introduced Senior Class President Michael Hiestand, who offered advice and announced the unveiling of the theme poster during the Aug. 21 liturgy held in Steinhauser Gym. Principal Dan Zoeller also addressed the assembly, which included some members of the Class of 1966, celebrating their 50th reunion.
The Class of 2016, the school’s 60th senior class, led a procession to the statue of Christ outside the rotunda following the Mass. A quick touch of the statue has become the traditional way to start the school year.
