By Tuesday morning, Monday’s storms had abated and the winds eased as the highlight of Alumni Courtyard renovation took place: the installation of the arches connecting the walls that face Shelbyville Road.

The arches were manufactured by Vendome Copper and Brass Works, owned by Trinity Class of 1957 alumnus Dick Sherman.  Trinity President Dr. Rob Mullen stated in an email: “Vendome is a 100-year-old company located in Butchertown. They are the world’s largest maker of stills.”

Mullen said final stages of the work includes landscaping, sealing the concrete and the addition of eight new benches.  The courtyard is scheduled for completion by Thanksgiving, at which time Archbishop Joseph Kurtz will bless the site.
