Lent Begins with Distribution of Ashes

As a reminder of our mortality, the beginning of Lent, and preparation for Easter, ashes were distributed during first block this morning.

Lent, a time for prayer and repentance, lasts for the next 40 days, until Palm Sunday begins Holy Week on Apr. 5. Good Friday (Apr. 10) and Easter Sunday follow.
