Ms. Amy Zuccaro, the speech and debate team head coach, gave an account of the Rocks’ opening competition that should put fear in the hearts of future opponents:

“On a spooky Halloween Saturday in Kentucky, members of the debate team competed at the Ryle Virtually Haunted Invitational.   Our debaters certainly weren’t afraid as both teams advanced to the semifinal round.

“The team of freshman Griffin Scribner and sophomore Ben McBride dropped in semis, but the sophomore team of Evan Belcher and Joseph Eng advanced to finals. Belcher and Eng claimed a solid second-place finish in their first tournament of the season.  Additionally, Ben McBride was named third-best speaker in Varsity Public Forum.”
