Back-to-Back Titles and a 27th Championship!

The 10-0 football Shamrocks brought home the school’s 27th championship by shutting out the Male Bulldogs 28-0 and winning the 6A crown Dec. 19 at UK’s Kroger Field in Lexington. Most Valuable Player Bradley West scored three times on runs of 4, 10 and 6 yards as the Rocks brought home a state championship for the 15th time under 21-year Rocks head coach Bob Beatty. Colin Book caught a 44-yard pass from Nathan McElroy for the team’s first score.  Kyle McLaughlin added four extra points.

From Athletics Director Mr. Rob Saxton: “Congratulations to Coach Beatty and the Football Rocks for another dominating performance! The Football Rocks accomplished the following this season:

  • A football season that lasted six months and three days (over half a year)
  • 27th Trinity football state championship
  • 15th state championship for Bob at Trinity
  • 10 – 0 record
  • 2 wins over Male; 2 wins over St. X
  • Top 20 in all national rankings
  • Historic defense at just 4.8 points per game allowed.”
