The archery Rocks finished second at the Mercy/Trinity Invitational, just behind No. 1-ranked Bullitt Central. The invitational, held Jan. 16, opened the season for the Rocks and second-year head coach Jim Hanson.

According to the Trinity Athletics website, “Rocks archery may realize their highest roster numbers in program history, with approximately 50 archers. The team returns all but one varsity archer. Last year’s team captured the regional championship before the pandemic ended the season. This year’s squad is looking to advance to KHSAA and NASP state and to NASP nationals.

“Key returning archers are seniors Jordan Vale, Tyler Terriaco, Aidan Cox and Michael Martin and sophomores Trevor McCray and Connor Racculia. Talented newcomers are freshman Morgan Frederick, Caleb Caudill and Max Albright.

“Scheduling highlights include multiple NASP warm-up tournaments, the KY NASP Region 6 High School Regionals, the KY NASP State Tournament, the KHSAA Region 4 Boys Tournament, and the NASP Nationals.”
