Tree Planting Represents Cross Country Team’s Legacy

Wednesday’s frigid temperatures did not dissuade the Rocks cross country team from recognizing the team’s legacy by planting a tree in Olmsted Park.

Owen McGreevy, a team leader and senior, said, “It was very, very cold. Coach (Scott) Holzkenecht, (head) coach (Craig) Kannapel, and I spoke to the team about legacy before and during the planting of the tree, a white oak. A representative from Olmsted Parks (Conservancy) told us about the park and the trees.”

Each senior placed a rock they had painted under the tree, which was planted in the spot the team met at for practices throughout the season.
