Rocks Upset Saint Xavier in Nationally-Ranked Soccer Matchup

Last Thursday, Rocks fans were treated to a match up of the year as Trinity defeated St. X. during the annual Pride Week game series. According to MaxPreps, Trinity is #12 in the country and Saint Xavier is #3, making the upset even more special.

The first half of the game had multiple shots on goal by both teams; however, neither team was able to score. Coming out of halftime the Tocks were ready, and just four minutes into the half, Santiago Toro scored a header to put Trinity on the board first.

With 23:05 left in the game, Grayson Travis got a free kick and sank it for Trinity to grow their lead to 2-0. Saint Xavier did try and make a comeback with a goal by Max Fahey to make the score 2-1. Trinity got an insurance goal in the final couple minutes with a header by Marty Wicinski to make the score 3-1 and wrap up the upset. Go Rocks!
