The Trinity golf team wrapped up a successful regular season, but now has their sights on the postseason.
The team’s ultimate goal is to make a run at state, but the first step is to make it through the region tournament, which is no easy task. Senior member of the golf team Chase Hamilton spoke about what’s next for the team. “We have the regional tournament which is tough because we have teams like St. X, CAL, and South Oldham… we have to beat them.” Hamilton emphasized the importance of everyone showing up ready to play. “Everybody’s got to make sure they’re on their A-game because every stroke matters”.
Though coming home with the state championship trophy is the goal, the team has already had a successful year and accomplished many feats. “We’ve had about eight wins or so, a lot of top five finishes. And all of that comes down to one stroke differences. So, we could easily have 10 to 11 wins.” This year’s team has already had a lot of success, so if they continue to improve, the sky is the limit.
The senior presence is felt with this year’s golf team containing double digit seniors. The seniors really help lead the team by example. The impact the 2025 senior class will leave an undeniable mark that is bigger than just the 2024 season. Hamilton said, “The seniors are trying to be models for what the underclassmen have to be next year…it’s been a really good leadership overall”.
The Golf Rocks are now preparing for the tough matchups in the region tournament. No matter the outcome, the Trinity the golf team has had a great season that they relish in as they continue their journey.
