The Soccer Rocks began postseason play with a 9-0 win over the Seneca Redhawks last night. The Rocks began the game with a strong start, scoring a goal within the first minute. Scored by senior captain Grayson Travis, this would be his first of multiple goals during the game. The Rocks continued to pile on goals in the first half in an all-team effort victory.
The Rocks had multiple different players score throughout the game. Halfway through the first half the Rocks began to put in their subs and got many players onto the pitch. The game concluded at the end of the first half with the mercy rule coming into effect. No matter the competitor, the Rocks take it one game at a time Senior defender Vincent Ivy said, “We go to practice every day and work to perfect our game. We make sure that we study film and critique our game. We just have to take it all one day at a time.”
With this first-round district win the Soccer Rocks have made it to regionals, no matter the result versus Atherton on October 10. The Rocks look to make a deep dive through regionals and qualify for the state tournament and make a push to win the KHSAA State Championship. The Rocks have high hopes and goals they are determined to reach heading into the final stretch of their season.
Make sure to go out and support the Rocks as they take on the Atherton Ravens on October 10 at 7:30pm at Marshall Stadium in the District 27 Final.
