This year, Trinity welcomes a new, soon-to-be familiar face: math teacher Tim Campbell. With nearly three decades of experience in education, Campbell is now using his expertise to teach geometry and Algebra I at Trinity. After spending 27 years working in the JCPS system, where he eventually retired, Campbell has returned to teaching simply for the joy of it.
Campbell’s passion for mathematics began in high school, where he excelled as a student. In college, he majored in Mathematics and Theoretical Mathematics. Reflecting on how he chose teaching as a career, he shared, “Math came very easily to me, and when I went to college, my advisor asked how I planned to turn that into a career. That’s when I decided to go into education. It’s always been a talent of mine, and I turned it into my profession.”
After spending around 20 years as a school administrator within JCPS, Campbell decided to make the transition to Trinity, a school he already knew well because his son attended.
Outside the classroom, Campbell has a passion for athletics, particularly the competitive side of sports, with swimming holding a special place in his heart as his son swam while at Trinity. He’s also an avid traveler, and last year, he achieved a personal milestone by earning his pilot’s license. Campbell and his wife have been traveling for years, but he cites Switzerland as his favorite destination. “We recently went to Switzerland, and it was beautiful. We hiked all over, explored the towns, and went through the mountains,” he said.
Trinity is excited to welcome Mr. Campbell to the community, and his students are sure to benefit from both his years of experience and his enthusiasm for teaching.

We’re lucky to have Mr. Campbell. Thanks for a great feature on why.
