Trinity Soundly Defeats DeSales in Basketball Home Opener

Despite multiple preseason injuries, Trinity decisively handled DeSales in Tuesday night’s basketball home debut.

Three Trinity players scored double digits as the Rocks made a statement in their 71-38 win against the Colts. The “Slamrocks” were led by sophomore guard Garrison Gilvin’s 16 points off the bench, along with senior forward Julius Edmond’s 14 points and junior Xavier Cosby’s 10 points.

Trinity controlled the paint from start to finish and physically dominated the Colts throughout the game. The Rocks jumped to an early 10-3 lead and never looked back, holding onto their double-digit lead for the rest of the game. They demonstrated an ability to score effectively on all levels, hitting multiple threes, getting to the foul line, and controlling the glass on both sides of the ball. Gilvin caught fire with a pair of threes to give the Rocks some momentum, a highlight in the middle of the game for the promising sophomore. Trinity also displayed defensive flashes, forcing multiple turnovers each quarter and holding the Colts to less than 40. Junior star Jayden Johnson did not play due to injury.

The Shamrocks host Male High School at 7:30 Friday night in an exciting matchup. Show up and continue to support Trinity Basketball.
