This past weekend the Speech and Debate team competed virtually in the Kentucky Catholic Forensic League State Tournament which is the qualifying tournament for the National Catholic Forensic League Grand National Tournament.
All five Rocks representing Trinity earned the bid to compete at nationals.
The upperclassmen led the way with all three competitors in Extemporaneous Speaking earning bids. Hayden Deitz placed third, Ian Beierle placed fourth, and Liam Wahl placed sixth. Freshman Conor McCaffrey placed fourth in Original Oratory.
Deitz and Beierle also earned a bid in Public Forum debate and will compete in that event at Nationals.
Wahl also earned a bid in Lincoln Douglas debate and will compete in that event at Nationals.
Rounding out the squad is junior Max Corbett who earned a bid in Congressional Debate.
The Rocks will head to Chicago in May for the national tournament.
