Trinity Rocks Dare to Care

Last Tuesday, 20 students from Trinity High School went to support one of the most successful food banks operating in Louisville, Dare to Care. Dare to Care, as a food bank, works to collect food and money to pay for food through donations, fundraisers and food drives. Then, once Dare to Care collects this food, they distribute the food to those who cannot include it in their income as easily due to their income. However, Dare to Care needs help to distribute this food to people who need it.

This group of Trinity students volunteered to do just that. Trinity has been donating money to Dare to Care for years, but for the past four years, we have been sending these volunteer groups to help Dare to Care at their locations. This year, the volunteers went by bus to the Dare to Care Senior Outreach Center, where they assembled care boxes for senior citizens who struggle to eat due to their budget. Many of these volunteers found fulfillment in the work that they did, including Corey Taylor ’26, who said that “I find it important to go on service projects such as the Dare to Care senior center to package foods because it keeps us humble and aware of the needs of others. Serving others reminds us that faith is meant to be lived out through love and action.” After three hours, the volunteers completed a total of 768 care boxes.

Congratulations to these volunteers as well as the ten volunteers who went on their own service trip earlier this month.
