The varsity football Rocks knocked off a determined St. Xavier team 29-17 Friday night at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium before 27,000 fans.
The district win was the 3-3 Rocks’ seventh consecutive victory over the Tigers.
The Trinity frosh and JVs also defeated St. X.
Despite a pre-game rainstorm, according to assistant coach Gary Owens, “The student section was unbelievably loud and proud. We heard you the whole game and want you to know how much we appreciate your support. You guys Rock!”
The Rocks face another district foe this Friday night as they take on Manual at Marshall Stadium.
