An eight-student Trinity delegation, led by teacher Mr. Scott Holzknecht, joined with other local area Catholic school groups who traveled to Frankfort “to protest the practice of mountain top removal mining and to advocate for healthier ways of energy production.”
Holzknecht said, “We will be meeting with state representatives and senators as well as demonstrating on the capital steps….the most insidious aspect of the practice involves its affects on our rivers, lakes, and streams — dumping huge amounts of chemicals (natural and unnatural) into our waterways.”
The Trinity delegation consisted of Matthew Barker, Joey Bohn, Ethan Conkin, Justin Crabtree, Adam Hill, Collin McGlone, Cameron Ridge and Andrew Wulf.
