Football Rocks fall in another close one

Trinity DB Canon Jackson (7) and linebackers Matthew English and Eric Schoen put some defense on Carmel.

For the second week the varsity football Rocks came close.  After losing 21-14 to Ensworth in Tennessee, Trinity fell in their home opener to Carmel from Indianapolis 10-7.  Tied at seven at the half, the Rocks lost when Carmel hit a field goal with 40 seconds left in the game.

According to Trinity assistant coach Gary Owens, “The defense played dominating football in the second half and the offense moved the ball, but it was Carmel who made the big plays. The student support was outstanding this past week and was much appreciated. The Rocks look to nab their first win of the year against Imhotep from Pennsylvania this Friday night at 7:30. Come out and support us as we look to bounce back from another tough loss. Go Rocks!”
