BMW M2 Convertible Perfect for the Sports Car Lover

Zachary Taylor, Staff Reporter

With great speed and acceleration, let’s look at all aspects of the 2016 BMW M2 convertible. It is the type of car that makes people turn their heads, but would you need to buy such an expensive car when there are other sport cars for less?

With a top speed of 155 mph, it is not as fast as other sports cars, but 155 is extremely competitive with other cars in its class. With this top speed, we look at the horsepower of the car at 365. This leads to great power for such a small car, making its 0-60 time in just 4.4 seconds. With this horsepower, the car is going to be loud at times. With an average fuel economy of 23 mpg and a range of 310 miles, you’ll spend more time on the road than at the pump.

All and all, if you have the money and desire for a fast, sharp car, the 2016 BMW M2 convertible is perfect.

The car has three driving modes: eco-pro, comfort, and sport. When driving in eco-pro, the car will lose acceleration, but it is saving on gas, and the noise of the engine is close to non-existent. Comfort is similar to eco-pro, with less acceleration than sport and a smoother ride and less noise from the engine. When you click the button switching from comfort to sport, you feel good about looking at this car in the first place. With a sudden roar of the engine, you know this is why you want this car. In sport, you will be able to accelerate and go top speed, making for a fun and exciting ride.

With any sports car, you must look at safety, knowing that with such acceleration and high speed, it is possible to make a mistake and crash. The M2 provides great safety features with three air bags: front, side, and knee. This is maximum protection. The car is also equipped with anti-lock brakes, which helps when the tires have stopped rotating while braking hard, regulating the brake pressure and allowing the tires to rotate.

Although this car has lots of power and acceleration, it lacks comfort. The back two seats are not pleasant to sit in, but the front two make up for it. With heated seats and a heated steering wheel, it’s perfect for cold winter days. The smooth leather seats have no flaws. Built mainly for two people, it’s a great car, but not a family car.

But what will all this cost you? At a starting price of $51,700, it’s very expensive. All and all, if you have the money and desire for a fast, sharp car, the 2016 BMW M2 convertible is perfect.
