After the success of “FIFA 16,” the owners of the FIFA franchise decide to step it up big time for the 2017 version.

New game engine Frostbite delivers authentic, true-to-life action and introduces fans to characters full of depth and emotion in “FIFA 17.”

When the first game came out in 1996, detail was non-existent and everything was so unclear. Imagine the static that comes on TVs when you have no channels, then add a little color. That’s what the first version of FIFA looked like.

Now to be fair, the technology EA Sports had cannot even compare to what Frostbite has now. Also, the game was not played on any high-tech game console like the Xbox One or PlayStation. It was played on the now discontinued GameCube.

The game also features abundant details in the grass fields, the goal celebrations, and the fans.

The graphics keep improving every year; you can look at the players and identify them, the cleats are accurate to what the player is actually wearing in real life, the fans sing chants that are sung during actual soccer matches, and players’ skill in real life can be used in the game.

Frostbite has revolutionized the way FIFA looks and feels while playing, giving the effect you’re in the game.

FIFA versions 2014-2016 had all the same game modes, the newest one being “Ultimate Team,” which gives the gamer the opportunity to create a team with real-life players. Gamers start from the very bottom with the worst group of players and try to improve the team’s chemistry and overall rating by acquiring new and improved players.

“FIFA 17” added a new game mode: Alex Hunter, a young boy who tries to find his way into the professional soccer world. The gamer gets to play as Alex, from his tryouts all the way to hoisting the Premier League title. New editions of Alex Hunter will be added to each new FIFA game that comes out.

The most important aspect to gamers is the realism of the game. “Is the game accurate to real life?” or “Are the player ratings accurate?” are questions that people run through their minds before buying a game.

Luckily “FIFA 17” is the closet to the real thing anyone can get. The game play is slow, which a lot of people have problems with, but it makes it more realistic. The game also features abundant details in the grass fields, the goal celebrations, and the fans.

Even if you’re not a fan of soccer, this game is surprisingly fun. That’s why “FIFA 17” was nominated as a candidate for the game of the year award in the U.K. At this point FIFA can’t get much better, but we will have to wait till “FIFA 18” to find out.
