Members of the Trinity Debate Team competed in the Kentucky High School Speech League State Tournament, hosted at the University of Louisville Mar. 11-12.

The Rocks claimed a number of top honors at the 100th KHSSL state tourney:

Senior Walker Evans placed third in Congressional Debate — sophomore Matthew Chou and senior Michael Chou also advanced to the supersession (finals round) of Congressional Debate.

Senior Porter Hunt was fourth-place speaker in Varsity Lincoln-Douglas.

With the help of the Novice Public Forum teams of sophomore Ali Alawami and freshman Lenny Garcia and freshmen Evan Belcher and Joseph Eng, the team took third in the overall Debate Team Sweepstakes.

This was the best team finish in head coach Amy Zuccaro’s 11 years with the Rocks.  A previous Coach of the Year winner, Zuccaro was again nominated for the honor.
