The numbers tell a major story — hosting a speech and debate tournament is no easy feat. Despite the COVID-19 impact, Rocks speech and debate team head coach Ms. Amy Zuccaro coordinated a successful Trinity High School Shamrock Invitational Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 23. A veteran of many tournaments, Zuccaro set up an invitational that included recorded entries as well as real-time virtual presentations.
Winning teams for Debate Sweepstakes were Paul Laurence Dunbar (1st), Henry Clay (2nd) and Larry A. Ryle (3rd). Speech Sweepstakes went to Knott County Central (1st), Paul Laurence Dunbar (2nd) and Murray (3rd). The Overall Sweepstakes top three were Paul Laurence Dunbar (1st), Knott County Central (2nd), and Larry A. Ryle (3rd).
