Following a state championship in 2019 and a season denied by the pandemic in 2020, the tennis Rocks are anxious to begin defense of their title.  Senior Griffin Grant answered a few questions about his outlook on the upcoming season. 

Q: Why did you start playing tennis?

A: I started playing tennis because my parents played tennis, and they wanted me to try it.

Q: What do you enjoy most about tennis?

A: I enjoy the competition because it pushes me to be a better player.

Q: How has COVID impacted the way tennis is played?

A: COVID has impacted the way tennis is played for me, such as high-fiving your partner in a doubles match — and practicing with masks on indoors.

Q: What goals do you hope to accomplish in this last year of tennis?

A: To win a state championship!

Q: What have been major highlights while playing tennis for the Rocks?

A: When junior Justin Lee and freshman Ben Rueff won the doubles state championship my sophomore year.

Q: How has your game improved at Trinity?

A: I’ve learned to give my best effort no matter what happens.
