As a First Team All-State member of the first Trinity baseball team to win a state championship, senior Korbyn Dickerson has accomplished a great deal and hopes to achieve a great deal more.  Korbyn, a member of the USA National 18U Team, answered a few questions about his baseball career.

Q: What inspired you to play baseball, and when did you start playing?

A: Nothing specifically inspired me to play baseball. One day I picked up a bat and glove and could never set them down again. Baseball has always been a part of my life, but nothing sparked me to play in my early years.

Q: How does it feel to be a state champion, and how do you top last year?

A: Being a state champion feels indescribable, but it is probably the best feeling I have ever had. Every time I go back and look at pictures or videos, I get goosebumps. The only way to top last year is to go win another one this year.

Q: What is your favorite memory as a Rocks player?

A: My favorite memory is winning the state title for the first time in program history.

Q: As an outfielder, what makes you so good at that position?

A: I think what makes me good is the hard work I put in day after day. The outfield is all about getting your reps and seeing as many reps as possible.

Q: What are your plans regarding baseball after this season?

A: My plans regarding baseball after this season are to play at the University of Louisville. The MLB draft is a potential for me if the right opportunity presents itself.

Q: What have you learned from head coach Rick Arnold and the other coaches?

A: I have learned what hard work feels like. These coaches push me beyond belief, and I now know what it is like to work as hard as you can.

Bonus: What has baseball taught you about life?

A: Baseball has taught me how to handle adversity. Adversity is common in baseball, and I know how to keep pushing forward when everything feels like it is going wrong.
