Shamrocks and Service Go Hand in Hand

ECHO Staff

Students and faculty volunteers from Trinity assisted Hand in Hand Ministries in the building of a safety and accessibility ramp and outdoor beautification in West Louisville on Apr. 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Hand in Hand Ministries is a local non-profit organization that helps provide food, water, clothing, shelter, education, and medical care for the less fortunate living in Louisville, Appalachia, Belize, and Nicaragua.”

The school’s service project, coordinated by House and Activities Director Mr. Adam Klein, focused on learning about the challenges and opportunities facing Louisville and Appalachia. The Rocks raised funds needed to build a safety and accessibility ramp for a resident in Louisville’s West End. They also helped purchase cleaning supplies and building materials for the Auxier Center in Auxier, Ky. The center assists residents in Kentucky’s Floyd, Johnson, Magoffin, and Martin counties.

Trinity collected donations from Monday, Mar. 21 – Thursday, Mar. 31.
