Trinity Hosts Career and Technical Education Fair

A Career and Technical Education Fair took place at Trinity Nov. 17 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Convocation Hall. According to Trinity Guidance and Counseling Department Chair Lucia Simpson, “This annual college fair is designed to assist students who are interested in an alternative to a four-year degree in discovering opportunities offered through local trade and vocational programs. Any current high school students and parents who are eager to explore non-traditional post-secondary educational opportunities would benefit from visiting this fair.”

Representatives from many careers shared information about their field and answered questions about ways to begin a career

Representatives from the following careers and programs were among those in attendance:

United Association of Plumbers, Pipefitters, and Service Techs, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Ivy Technology, Wagner Electric, United Electric, Purdue Polytechnic, JCTC Aviation Maintenance Program, JCTC Culinary Program, JCTC Computer and Information Technology Program, JCTC Bit 502, JCTC KY FAME, JCTC HVAC, JCTC Construction, Louisville Metro Fire Department, St. Matthews Fire Department, SMART Local 110 Sheet Metal Workers, ACE Mentoring, UPS, and Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky Council of Carpenters.
