Sculpture Class Works on Popsicle Stick Construction Project

Using an unlikely combination of items, Trinity art teacher Shayne Hull’s sculpture class has been working on “a popsicle stick construction project.”

According to Hull, the students “were tasked with constructing a playground set using only popsicle sticks, wood glue, string, Dremel tools and, for clamps… clothespins.  They were required to meet certain specs (must have platform above the slide; platform must be seven inches from the tabletop, must have monkey bars, two swings, a roof/cover 14 inches from the tabletop, etc.).  Once they meet the specs, they are to make it as unique and artistic as possible.  They were also required to draw and follow a blueprint.  They’re looking pretty cool so far.”
