Joining Trinity’s faculty as an English teacher, Mr. Walter Dowling grew up in Ames, Iowa, where he graduated from Ames High School. After graduation, he attended Northern Michigan University for architecture technology. After earning his associate degree, he switched programs to pursue a career in education. Dowling graduated in 2006 from NMU with a B.S. in English education. For a few years following graduation, he worked and taught in Minnesota. In 2010, he moved to Kentucky, working as a substitute teacher at Trinity and in Jefferson County Public Schools. In addition to teaching English, Dowling is the producer for Trinity’s renowned theater program. He is also a member of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).
