The LRS Fest made its annual stop in Louisville. LRS Fest is an annual concert put on by the radio station, 105.1 WLRS. This year’s LRS Fest had a mix of several popular bands along with many less-known local bands. The lineup on the main stage for this year’s show was Puddle of Mudd, Sum 41, The Starting Line, Drowning Pool and Sick Puppies. On the second stage Caldera, Kinsey, Subrosa and Sacred Sorrow performed. The show had a great atmosphere and an unlimited amount of energy. This was made evident in the non-stop cheering, crowd surfing and moshing. Every time a new band came on to play on the main stage, the crowd went wild. Also, unlike many concerts, almost everyone stayed until the very end. The main stage was packed with several big-time bands that everyone has most likely heard of. Puddle of Mudd and Sum 41 were the main attractions. Sum 41 played a few songs off their new album–“Underclass Hero” was one–as well as a lot of their old songs that brought them to where they are today, among them “All to Blame,” “Fat lip,” and “In Too Deep.” Since Puddle of Mudd was headlining the concert, it was only natural they would play last. Similar to Sum 41, Puddle of Mudd came out and played a few newer songs, but everyone was really waiting for them to play their older songs. They ended up playing most everyone’s personal favorite, “She Hates Me.” Although the more popular bands received most of the spotlight, the second stage had just as much energy. The second stage had bands that played heavier music. Bands like Caldera, Subrosa, and Kinsey gave everyone a reason to get in the mosh pit. Caldera’s heavy breakdowns sent the pit into a frenzy with at least a dozen people hardcore dancing at a time. No matter what kind of rock you are into, LRS Fest was a great time. It is safe to say that WLRS will put on another great show next year.
