If nonstop action and edge-of-your-seat suspense isn’t your kind of movie, then “The Bourne Ultimatum” is not the flick for you. An ex-CIA agent, Jason Bourne, played by Matt Damon, fights for his life throughout Europe and the United States in order to discover his past, which he no longer remembers. As he fights off the occasional hit man and hides from a team of CIA operatives, he finds that he is part of a secret within the CIA that was not meant to be found. He continues to dodge bullets and jump buildings until the truth is discovered. From start to credits there is never a pausing moment. This movie has plenty of action to go around. It also has actors worth mentioning, Julia Stiles, David Strathairn, Scott Glenn and Joan Allen. “The Bourne Ultimatum” could be considered a “guy” movie, meaning less dialogue and more fights and explosions. I suggest leaving your girlfriends at home when seeing this movie. Although I found myself loving the movie from the beginning, it did have its weaknesses. It lacked originality. It had the same concept as the first two Bourne movies, with a lot of the same fighting and hiding involved. Less talking and more punching doesn’t always make a movie better and sometimes you just need a break from the action. Although you may get worn out with the constant running and hiding, it has a great story line and plays in perfectly with the other two movies. The suspense doesn’t end until the final minute, and you find yourself wondering if that’s the “end” of the Bourne story. The strengths definitely outnumber the weaknesses, and I suggest spending your money on the trilogy. I give “The Bourne Ultimatum” 4 out of 5 stars for an impressive action/suspense flick.
