Social studies and religion teacher Mr. Boomer Ayers left Trinity after accepting a position at the University of Kentucky. Ayers, Trinity Class of ‘97, left following Christmas break. A popular teacher and coach, Ayers was voted Teacher of the Year by students in 2005. Ayers’ classes were taken over by a Mr. Keith Wettig and Mrs. Holly McGuire until the end of the year. Wettig, who is teaching the history classes, said he is “happy to be here.” Wettig said he is interested in becoming a full-time teacher. McGuire, who has subbed at Trinity since 1999, took over the religion portion of Ayers’ schedule. McGuire said she was “happy to be here every day.”
