The Trinity golf rocks, currently ranked No. 2 in the state, were matched up against No. 1 St. Xavier at Oxmoor Country Club. The Rocks whipped the Tigers’ top eight golfers by a score of 7 1/2 to 4 1/2, in a Ryder Cup format.

The team consisted of James Inman, Zach Mattingly, Jake Mattingly, Grant Hummell, Ryan Murr, Kyle Davis, Collin Burckle and Mike Blair. Half way through the season, the Rocks have now defeated the No. 1- and No. 3-ranked teams in Kentucky.

SOCCER

The soccer Rocks exploded for three second-half goals in a span of six minutes last night to defeat Floyd Central. Drew Goetz led the way for the Rocks with a hat trick, and Sam Stockton had a goal as well. Senior goalkeeper Eric Goranflo posted his third shutout of the season. The Rocks will be back in action at Marshall Stadium on Saturday with a triple-header against Covington Catholic.
