Trinity basketball is in full effect with tryouts happening two weeks ago and teams are now fully formed. The varsity squad is looking to accomplish big things this year on the court and hoping to get to Rupp Arena in February.
Jayden Johnson says state is the main goal for the Shamrocks. “I want to lead my team to Rupp and try to win the region.”
Last year the team was 22-7 with some big wins, including one over St. Xavier at Bellarmine on Jan. 6. With five seniors leaving last season, Trinity is looking to our young players to step up this season. One of those is Johnson, who is a sophomore. “We need to play together and play hard.” The Rocks are ready to play this season with the home opener coming on Dec. 5 vs Bardstown. Johnson encourages every student to attend. “It’s a big game every game. Let’s make it packed.”
