Congratulations to the Trinity Shamrock bowling team on a successful season!
The Rocks had an undefeated regular season and qualified first in region 4 for the State tournament.
On Tuesday, February 6th, they competed in the KHSAA State Team Bowling Tournament.
After qualifying first, the team took on a strong Scott County team in the first round. They won 3 to 2 to take on Manual in the second round of competition. The team gave a hard fight against their region 4 rival and pulled it out 3 to 2.
In the semi-finals, the Rocks bowled against a strong PRP team. They fell to the eventual champ and finished third in the State.
In addition, huge congratulations are in order for senior Ethan Ackermann of the Shamrock Bowling team.
After qualifying in the top 4 in region 4, Ackermann went on to compete in the KHSAA State Singles Championship on Tuesday, February 6th.
In the State competition, Ackermann bowled alongside fellow teammates Connor Woosley and Brandon Padgett. Ackermann qualified in the top eight bowlers in the State Bowling Competition to move on to the second round. Ackermann scored high enough to continue to complete in the top four.
Ackremann defeated fellow teammate Connor Woosley, Broox Golden from Paul Laurence Dunbar and Tyler Blevens of Bullitt Central to be named the 2024 KHSAA individual state singles bowling champion.
Ackermann is one of only two Shamrocks to ever earn this honor. Well done and congratulations to Ethan Ackermann!
