On Friday March 15^th,  the Trinity Tennis Rocks opened their season with a win against DuPont Manual on their brand-new court. Sophomore member of the tennis team Akhil Mariyappa shared his thoughts on the first win of the season. “Obviously being the first match of the year, I think there’s a lot we can play around with…but I think it was a very positive experience.”

The Rocks debuted their new court in the first game of the year. “It was a huge game for us because it was the first game at the new tennis courts, so obviously it was a big win for us.”

Mariyappa also shared some of the new perks of the new tennis facilities. “We have a ball machine now and a lot of factors that can go into making us better players…it’s cool to see all the new stuff going on at the new stadium.”

Mariyappa went on to share the pride he feels to get to wear Trinity across his chest. “It means a lot to have that name across your chest because of the twelve rings that back it up, but to me it is the brotherhood that means a lot.” He continued, “When I go out in public and have Trinity on I will have people come up to me…so the family and bond is always there.”
