On Wednesday, April 1, the Volleyball Rocks earned a convincing road win over Ballard, sweeping the Bruins in straight sets to improve to 8-2 on the season. Trinity led throughout, winning each set 25-13, 25-15 and 25-14.
Sophomore John Fox had a standout performance at the net, delivering an array of powerful spikes over Ballard players. Paired with unreturnable serves from senior Camden Gerlack, Trinity maintained momentum throughout the match.
Head coach Savage said the team handled a difficult week on the road well. “It was a long stretch of away matches this week, and we came out 3-0,” Savage said. “So I thought they played well and handled things, all things considered.”
Looking ahead, Savage said, “We just have to keep playing disciplined volleyball and keep building.” As the Rocks head into spring break, the focus remains on continued improvement before a tougher stretch of the schedule.
He also said he already has one rematch circled later in the year. “I’m looking forward to playing St. X again and trying to get some revenge,” Savage said.
With the win, Trinity enters the break with momentum and a strong 8-2 record. Next, the Volleyball Rocks travel to Lexington to take on Henry Clay on April 15 at 7:30 p.m.
