On Tuesday, Mar, 27, Rick Arnold and the Trinity Shamrocks baseball team took on their 7th region foe: the Male Bulldogs. Trinity ended up walking away with the win in a flawless 7-0 victory. It was another example of the Rocks’ fantastic start to the season: four wins and a single loss (and two scrimmage wins).
Coach Arnold and Trinity baseball is a very elite program both state-wide and nationally. This year is no different with a division 1 filled roster. The Kentucky Wildcats-commit, junior Grayson Willoughby, took the bump for the rocks in a bullpen game and dished out a classy scoreless inning. Konnor Stargel and Hudson Meredith followed with a pair of scoreless innings shortly after. The Rocks’ defense held up the whole game and had an errorless day on the diamond to back their pitcher up.
The Rocks were hot from the plate last night putting up seven runs. Junior catcher Harper Haywood was putting on a hitting clinic with a 1B, 2B, and 3B (single, double, triple). Senior infielder Jackson Supsky also got in on the action with an early double to deep left center field which gave the Rocks their momentum that would lead them to a victory.
“We have a lot of great pitchers this year like we showed tonight, rolling a lot of different ones out there, that will be big for us as we get deeper into the season,” said Supsky after the game. The Rocks look to continue their success and reach those high expectations that Trinity Baseball makes very prevalent.
