International Travel in Trouble?

In the upcoming summer, Trinity has a trip planned to explore Greece, Rome, and Egypt. Led by Chad Waggoner who believes this an amazing opportunity for students and faculty to be able to go on. He said that there has never been a trip like this one offered at this level. “Trinity as far as I know, is the only high school in the US that will have an opportunity
like this.” He went on to elaborate, stating, “To be able to see the Coliseum, pyramids, and Acropolis … it is a bucket list thing for me, it is something I have been wanting to do for ages and I am excited about it.”

The best way to learn about the world is to see it, meet the people, eat the food, experience the culture.

— Chad Waggoner

Another first is that this trip will not be possible to continue as planned, due to high conflicts around
the world right now. Waggoner explained that “it is concerning, and we are taking a close look on it now.
Unfortunately, due to the conflict in Israel and Palestine — they are neighbors of Egypt. If the conflict does not stop, we will have to see if it is okay to continue with the trip as planned.” Come spring, the final decision will be made.

This may be scary, but besides all the conflicts, Waggoner is still recommending for students and faculty to go out and seize an opportunity quite like this one. “There are so many other trips that Trinity offers every summer: four international opportunities. You need to get on one of them. The best way to learn about the world is to see it, meet the people, eat the food, experience the culture.”

Waggoner is still excited about this trip and can’t wait to depart in the summer of 2024.
