KUNA Rocks Lead the Way With Top Honors

This past week, Trinity’s KUNA Rocks took the stage at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and handled business as usual. Trinity teachers Mr. Serrano and Mr. Mata led the way as advisers, while multiple Trinity students earned awards for the countries they represented: Israel, Denmark and Argentina.

Senior Ben Merrick received the Outstanding Ambassador Award after being nominated by Serrano and Mata. The award is based on an ambassador’s presence and performance within the YMCA, as well as behavior reflecting its core values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Juniors Landen Blincoe, Michael Diffey, Gavin Goodlett and Soren Rai represented Argentina, sponsoring the resolution titled “Sovereign Debt Stabilization and Equitable International Financial Reform in the Argentine Republic.” Addressing Argentina’s ongoing financial crisis, the proposal passed through committee and was endorsed by the secretary-general.

Trinity also received the Premier Delegation Award, given to delegations that exemplify the YMCA’s core values, excel in all areas of participation and meet all conference requirements.
