This past weekend the Speech team competed in the Derby Region tournament which qualifies for the KHSSL State Tournament in March.
All members of the speech team will represent Trinity at the State Tournament. Standout performances included:
Xander Leavall: 5th place Broadcasting
Liam Wahl: 5th place Extemporaneous Speaking and 3rd place in Impromptu Speaking
Akhil Mariyappa: 3rd place Prose Interpretation and Regional Runner-Up in Impromptu Speaking
Zayden Wright and Vance Ortego: 5th place in Improv Duo
Xander Leavell and Charlie Vonderheide: 3rd place in Improv Duo
The team took 4th in overall team sweepstakes, narrowly missing 3rd place by 3 points.
