Trinity’s senior retreat program, which began in 1974, has had a lasting impact on thousands of those who have taken part. Trinity world language teacher and baseball coach Mr. Steven Tompkins (Class of 1981) recently spent some time reflecting on the effect the school’s retreat program had on several alumni. “(The discussion) was set up for senior retreat,” Tompkins said, “and to see how everyone was after their fourth day. It’s something that will grow and more alumni will grow with it.” Trinity graduate Sean McGuire, 1984 Senior Class president, was among those Tompkins spoke with. He recalled the spiritual and social impact of the three days at Mount St. Francis. McGuire said, ” I started an ongoing relationship with God. It was tremendous; I met others on the retreat. A lot of these guys I mostly saw in the hallways and knew their faces, but I got to know more about them. We really got connected, and we then got together.”
