He won his first several matches, advancing to the team trials. Jackson went on to win a bronze medal in his age and weight division. He was one match away from earning a spot on a United States Olympic team.

Jackson will also compete in the Pan-Am Games in Chicago. He earned his kukkiwon black belt last August.
