Toussaint Takes the Crown in House 3-Point Contest

Toussaint Takes the Crown in House 3-Point Contest

Toussaint House proved once again that shooters win games.

On Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, during advising on the last day before winter break, Trinity students competed in the gym for the annual House 3-Point Contest. By the end of the two-minute showdown for each house, it was no surprise who stood on top: senior Jayden Johnson and junior Sutton Hill from Toussaint House, both varsity players on Trinity’s Basketball team. The duo secured first place with a combined 47 three-pointers.

Johnson knocked down 27 shots, continuing his hot streak from the night before against Ballard where he had a 30-point game, while Hill added 20 of his own, giving Toussaint a clear lead over the competition.

The rules were simple but intense: Each house selected two shooters and two rebounders. The shooters each started with two basketballs and relied on their rebounders to quickly pass the ball back after every shot. With just two minutes on the clock, players could take as many shots as they were able to get up. Speed, rhythm, and teamwork made all the difference.

Johnson and Hill had all three.

When asked if they expected to win, the confidence was clear.

“Yes,” Johnson said.

“No doubt,” Hill added.

Both players are members of the Trinity varsity basketball team, and their experience showed. Johnson said he models his shot after Cade Cunningham, while Hill looks to Devin Booker for inspiration.

Behind their shooting performance, Toussaint will move up in the House Cup standings as the third quarter comes to a close in early March. This win could play a big role as the competition tightens heading into the final stretch of the year, for all houses involved, not just Toussaint.

The final results were competitive across the board. Aquinas finished in second place with 34 total threes, followed closely by Flannan with 33. Gonzaga claimed the final podium spot by just one shot in a tight race for third. Becket and Dante finished in a two-way tie for fourth. Patrick followed with 27 points. After that, there was a noticeable drop-off as the remaining houses struggled to keep pace.

While several houses put up strong numbers, Toussaint’s performance felt expected from the moment Johnson and Hill stepped onto the court. Their rhythm, quick shots, and chemistry with their rebounders separated them from the rest of the field.

Congratulations to Toussaint House on the win.
