Selfie Stations and Geofilters Enhance Game Experience

What is one thing young people love? Social media!

In an attempt to further engage the community, the Rocks introduced a Selfie Station and Geofilters at football games.

Mr. Bret Saxton and other members of the Trinity Advancement Office conceived the idea of implementing social media platforms at Trinity football games. It has been a booming success. The Trinity “whiteout game” filter got over 50,000 shares.

According to Saxton, one purpose of the Selfie Station at the football games is to connect with grade school students who are considering attending or shadowing at Trinity. Saxton said the cost of the social media additions is “far outweighed” by the potential gains.

“The best way to reach today’s middle-schooler is through social media,” Saxton said, “It (the Geofilters) gets grade school students feeling excited and connected to Trinity, making it well worth it.”

The Geofilters have been a success, no doubt, but how do Trinity students react to the idea?

“The filters are great, and I think it adds to the whole experience of attending the game,” Trinity junior Andrew Cawood said.
