For many kids, watching college games on TV is just a dream. For Allen “LA” Evans IV, that dream is starting to come true as he goes through the recruiting process.

“The recruiting process has been a great experience,” Evans said. “I used to just watch guys on TV, and now I’m actually living it. It doesn’t even seem real sometimes.”

Evans got his first offer in July before his sophomore year from the University of Louisville. Since then, more schools have shown interest, such as Tennessee, Penn State, and Alabama, to name a few. He says these are great, but he isn’t ready to pick one.

“I wouldn’t say I’m really interested in one the most,” he explained. “They’re all the same right now. They’re all great programs.”

When it comes to choosing a school, Evans is looking for more than just football. “In my future school, I want a coach who really cares about me and my family,” he said. “I also want a place that will help me reach my goals, both on the field and in the classroom.”

Being a top recruit with big-time D1 offers can bring a lot of pressure—especially before big games. Evans has found his own way to stay calm. “I just try to slow myself down, take deep breaths, and clear my mind,” he said. “That helps me focus on what I need to do.”

Like most athletes, he’s got his pre-game hype songs. His hype songs include “Dreams and Nightmares” by Meek Mill and “First Day Out” by Tee Grizzley.

As more schools continue to show interest, Evans is staying focused on improving his game and preparing for the future. His humble mindset and hard work make it clear why colleges see so much potential in him. Evans believes what makes him stand out is his team-first attitude. “I’m a well-rounded player,” he said. “I’m always going to do what it takes to help my team win. Even if it’s not about me, I’ll do what I need to so that we all succeed.”

For LA Evans, this is just the start of an exciting journey.
