Bowling Rocks Take State
On Monday, Feb 9th our Trinity Bowling Rocks competed for the State Championship.
Congratulations are in order for Trinity Associate AD Jimmy Wadell ’05,  head coach John McCarthy ’07, his staff, moderator Betsy Darby, and the Varsity Bowling Rocks.
After qualifying first, the Shamrocks defeated Fern Creek 3 to 1. In the quarterfinals, the Rocks took West Jessamine. They defeated them 3 to zero. In the semi-final, they bowled against Daviess County winning 3 to 1. In the final, they bowled a talented Covington Catholic in a rematch of the 2025 State Championship. It went down to the wire. Sophomore Gage Blevens put it away with a strike in the tenth frame of the fifth game to win 3 to 2.
After the Rocks captured the KHSAA team state title yesterday morning, Trinity senior Blake Ackermann went on to capture the individual state championship in the afternoon.
That makes 3 team state titles in four years (2023, 2025, 2026) and 3 straight individual champions — Ethan Ackermann (2024), Joseph Adams (2025), and Blake Ackermann (2026). And yes… Blake and Ethan are brothers.
The Trinity Shamrock bowling team are back-to-back State Champions! Congratulations to our team and its coaches.
